Itineraries

Route by pace

A good Vietnam itinerary is not the one with the most pins. It is the one where each transfer earns its place. Use this hub to choose a route length, understand what to leave out, and build a trip that still feels like travel rather than logistics.

Choose the itinerary family

7 days

Best as a focused regional trip. Pick one main region and avoid crossing the whole country.

10 days

Enough for a classic first route if you accept a few efficient transfers and avoid too many one-night stays.

14 days or more

Best for adding contrast, slower meals, weather buffer, and a premium cruise, beach, or mountain extension.

Build the route in this order

  1. Start with international flight cities and any fixed-date experiences.
  2. Choose two or three anchor bases before adding day trips.
  3. Map transfer time door to door, not just flight or train time.
  4. Keep one slower day after long-haul arrival and before departure.
  5. Price the route before polishing hotel choices.

Premium does not always mean more stops

For Vietnam, premium often means better timing, fewer wasted transfer hours, stronger guides, and enough margin to enjoy the places you chose.

Next: estimate the trip cost.

Route, comfort level, and transfer choices shape the budget more than daily spending alone.
